Whether you are an accomplished artist or a complete newbie who just fancies having a go, Art with Donkeys gives you the perfect opportunity to create your own donkey picture!
Led by Sharron Harrington, renowned local equine artist, this workshop takes place in the marquee at Holly Grange. Our miniature donkeys will be on hand throughout the day for inspiration and when you are not creating art, there will be lots of time for grooming, feeding and cuddles!
Everything you need will be provided on the day including artists materials, tea, coffee, water and squash throughout the day and a light lunch.
Sharron is an accomplished artist and art tutor, coaching many groups in the area and creating her own equine pictures and commissions in a variety of different media including oils, pastels, charcoal, acrylic and watercolour.
Join us on what will be a relaxing and fun day focussed on art and donkeys!

INFO ON THE DAY
This will take place at 10.00am on Saturday 12th September 2026 at the home of the donkeys, Holly Grange, Balsall Common, CV7 7EB.
Our day will be led by renowned equestrian artist, Sharron Harrington, accompanied by our very own life models: Florence, Daisy, Harriet, Grace and probably Bertram, Storm and James if they are in a good mood! I wouldn’t put it past Thomas to put in an appearance too!
Sharron is used to working with artists, from those who are accomplished and experienced to complete beginners like me!
The plan for Art with donkeys is for everyone to take home a picture of a donkey that they have created themselves and is recognisable as a donkey!
Art with Donkeys will take place in the marquee on the croquet lawn, with all materials and equipment provided for beginners. We plan to work in charcoals and/or pastels and full guidance will be given to help total beginners create their own lovely artwork. (More experienced artists may wish to bring their own gear and media if preferred.)
If you think the art will be difficult, spare a thought for us donkey handlers! We aim for the donkeys to take it in turns to be life models, which we suspect will require a few carrots and ginger nut biscuits and the usual amounts of patience!
We will also have a range of donkey photography on the walls and around the garden for you to reference if the donkeys are not behaving!
Most importantly, there will be plenty of time for feeding, grooming and cuddling the donkeys throughout the event which will run from 10.00am to 2pm.
The price is £45 per person including all materials and hot and cold drinks and light refreshments throughout the event.
Places will be limited as we want to make sure that Sharron has time to spend with everyone.
